Our Executive Director, Joey Lynch-Flohr brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Cobbdale Assisted Living team. He serves as a guest lecturer at George Mason University and is pursuing a Masters degree in Health Administration and Policy with a Concentration in Senior Housing Administration.
He has also completed an intensive Senior Living Administrator on-site training program and became licensed as an Assisted Living Administrator by the state of Virginia.
His strong educational foundation, relevant professional training, and valuable experience in directly supporting seniors allow him to provide effective leadership and daily oversight of all facets of life at Cobbdale Assisted Living.
While we take pride in the smart senior design of Cobbdale, we are equally invested in the selection of our staff. Simply put, we hire all of our caregivers with the standard:

We know that a resident’s experience of his or her quality of life will be significantly impacted by each of our professional caregivers. Thus, everyone who works at Cobbdale is not just qualified and experienced in geriatric caregiving—each is truly a caregiver at heart. Moreover, our 3-to-1 resident-to-staff ratio on average is optimal—higher than what is required by Virginia regulations. As a result, our Care Team knows our residents very well, and residents come to rely on numerous staff members to provide the ongoing comprehensive support required to satisfy the needs of our residents.
Cobbdale’s staff members are carefully selected, highly experienced, and fully certified. Our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are thoroughly screened during our hiring process to ensure their qualifications and experience. Our CNAs receive ongoing supervision, up-to-date training, and continuing education. The quality, passion, dedication, and competence of our “caregivers” is among our highest priorities.
Cobbdale is also fortunate enough to have its own highly experienced wellness consultants, licensed psychologists, and social workers who consult with our Care Team and spend time getting to know our residents.
